In 1870, the successful industrial pioneer Karl Händle founded an engineering shop for the production of brickworks machinery in Mühlacker near Stuttgart. Today, HÄNDLE GmbH supplies machines and plants for heavy and fine ceramic products all over the world into 100 different countries and is thus an important partner in the manufacture of bricks and roof tiles as well as of façade, wall and floor tiles.
Since 2002, Karl Händle's grandson, Mr. Frank Händle, has been investigating and testing auger extruders for the production of technical ceramic parts. This formed the basis for the ECT – Extrusion for Ceramic Technologies – brand. With its special extruders, ECT-KEMA GmbH, founded in Görlitz in 2013, now belongs to the market and technology leaders within this branch.
The products manufactured by means of special extruders from ECT-KEMA GmbH are sold worldwide, thus helping to minimize harmful emissions. They are used in soot particle filters for trucks and ship's engines, in honeycomb body filters for cars, as three-way catalytic converters, or as DeNOx honeycombs and filtering granulate for the cleaning of exhaust gases from coal-fired power stations and waste incineration facilities.
